Cancellation by Paris City Hall of a conference in which Judith Butler was due to take part

Judith Butler, an American philosopher, was due to speak in Paris on Wednesday 6 December at a conference entitled “Against anti-Semitism, its exploitation, and for revolutionary peace in Palestine”. An online participation by civil rights activist Angela Davis was also scheduled. The event, which was due to take place at the Cirque Électrique, was cancelled at the initiative of Paris City Hall on the pretext of “risks of public disorder”.
