Adèle Haenel's remarks on the genocide in Gaza pulled from France Télévisions' platforms

On the live broadcast of La Grande Librairie on France 5 on 9 September, the former actress Adèle Haenel denounced "a genocide in Palestine", accused France of complicity, and called for sanctions against Israel.

In the programme's "Droit dans les yeux" segment she declared: "We have to speak in order to say again what lies within this silence, so that everyone hears it: the State of Israel is committing a genocide in Palestine, and France is complicit." She then addressed the French authorities directly: "Do not accept the unacceptable; sanction Israel and free Palestine."

The video was immediately taken down by France Télévisions on the grounds that it had not been accompanied by an opposing voice on a channel funded by the taxpayer.
