Following the ‘Bloquons Tout’ student protest day held on 10 September 2025 against the partnership between the University of Western Brittany (UBO) and the company Thales, the student association Le Poing Levé Brest had its ‘asso-UBO’ accreditation withdrawn by the university management.
This decision, taken after a protest denouncing the university’s complicity with the arms industry and the situation in Gaza, prevented the association from continuing its activities on campus. Several student and trade union organisations have condemned this as an attack on freedom of expression and student organisation.
