Benoît Huou, a mathematics lecturer at the Toulouse School of Economics, has been suspended for four months after referring to the situation in Gaza during his first lecture of the academic year and criticising Israel’s participation in the Olympic Games.
The public prosecutor's office opened an investigation for "glorification of terrorism", which was ultimately dropped without further action. The professor was reinstated in January 2025.
