The student group Students for Justice in Palestine had requested a venue at Sciences Po Paris to host a conference on the arms embargo against Israel featuring Rima Hassan. Director Luis Vassy denied the request on November 18, 2024, citing a risk of public disorder.

The Paris Administrative Court initially ruled in favor of the students and ordered the conference to proceed. After Sciences Po appealed, the Council of State ultimately upheld the ban on November 29, finding that the institution had been facing serious disturbances for several months. The conference did not take place.
